The project

Many young people in Lupinyu grow up with limited educational resources and few opportunities. A lack of learning materials, extracurricular activities, and accessible career pathways makes it difficult for them to pursue a self-determined future.

The Skills Centre offers a protected space where young people can explore their abilities, gain confidence, and acquire practical skills – from hands-on and creative competencies to digital literacy. In addition, sports facilities, creative workshops, and communal areas promote teamwork, collaboration, and a sense of belonging.

Basic needs are also supported: school supplies, hygiene items, and sports equipment are provided regularly. A cafeteria and recreational facilities within the centre help sustain its operations while offering spaces for interaction, learning, and self-organization.

The long-term goal of the Skills Centre is to empower young people to act independently, use their talents, and grow into responsible members of their community. In doing so, it builds a stable foundation for education, career development, and social participation that extends far beyond individual lessons.

Children are our future and they deserve every opportunity to help shape that future. I believe it is our responsibility to open paths that may not have been open to us ourselves.

Having grown up with limited opportunities, I want to help ensure that the next generation has better prospects. Children and young people should be free to be curious, creative, and explore their own paths.
